There are many ways to achieve fast weight loss. However, not all of them are either safe or effective. Before you start a diet you should learn all you can about nutrition. You can do this online, through books, or by taking a nutrition class at your local community college. You also need to take a look at you goals and realistically assess whether you really need to lose your weight that quickly. If it is a health related reason, like high blood pressure or maybe high cholesterol, and you have consulted with you doctor first, then go for it!

To achieve fast weight loss, you will need to also start a fitness program. Whether it’s walking, jogging, strength training or some other approach really doesn’t matter as long as you GET MOVING! I’m not talking about tackling a one hour aerobics class right away. Just get outside and take a brisk walk for 10 minute every other day. That’s all you have to do right now. Work your way up to longer walks say 10 minutes everyday then add a few minutes to the routine as you endurance increases and you get stronger. When you feel more comfortable, add 10 minute increments and/or walk more often. Remember, any activity is better than no activity.

The other thing you need to do is modify your diet and eating habits. Get rid of the high calorie, high sugar content foods, like cakes, cookies and donuts. Include more vegetables, fruits and natural grains. Do not include processed grains like those in white bread and some cereals. Stay away from fried foods, they are high in fat, and bad fat at that. Also do no drink sodas, they contain a huge amount of sugar. There have been some studies that suggest that even diet sodas are bad because they actually stimulate the appetite. DO NOT get rid of all your carbohydrates. You do need some to maintain your energy levels. But, you do need to reduce the quantity of carbohydrates that you consume. Finally, spread your meals over five smaller, well balance meals throughout the day. This keeps your bodies metabolism at a higher level, and reduces the urge to binge eat. Spreading your meals out also helps burn fat as the result of higher the metabolism.
